The Hidden Dream Scholarship

The Hidden Dream’s Scholarship Fund

This fund is aimed at dependent visa HS seniors+Undergraduate college students. Currently Dependent Visa Holders do not qualify for any federal support/Financial aid and once they age of out the system they have to prove they are on par with International students in terms of funding to even get paperwork to attend school. Often times they also have to pay out of state tuition even though they have lived in the same state for decades.

We came across many awesome scholarships for immigrants but none at the dependent visa community. Many scholarships require a green card, SSN, or DACA to apply but dependent visa holders unfortunately can’t provide that information. This motivated our launch with a goal of raising $1000 in our inaugural year. We more than doubled our goal in our first year and were able to award two scholarship winners!
